The ABC Television Network (which stands for the “American Broadcasting Company”), is one of the top television stations in the country, alongside NBC, CBS, and Fox. The ABC network is shown all around the country via various channels that have a broadcast range for each state. Each state has one or up to multiple ABC news affiliates that can broadcast in several towns.
The ABC Television Network is owned by the Walt Disney Company, and is part of the Disney-ABC Television Group. ABC’s corporate headquarters are located in New York, while the programming offices are in Burbank, California. It first began broadcasting programming in 1948, and now plays host to popular shows such as the mystery adventure show “Lost”, the dark comedy “Desperate Housewives”, and a wide variety of Disney and more family themed programming.
There are many affiliates in all parts of the country. For the West Coast viewers, for example, Nevada has a Reno (KOLO 8) affiliate, as well as a Las Vegas ABC affiliate (KTNV 13). And ABC affiliate falls in DC (San Diego), Sioux City, Iowa, for the Middle American viewers, and all other major West Coast states, such as Washington, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Oregon and Wyoming.
Middle American affiliates are just as plentiful, offering the same type of programming, but in Mountain and Central time zone showings. There is an ABC affiliate in Indianapolis, Indiana (WRTV 6), and also a “Windy City” ABC affiliate in Chicago, Illinois (WLS-TV 7). Other Illinois based affiliates are Champaign (WICD-TV 15), Harrisburg (WSIL-TV 3), Moline (WQAD-TV 8), Peoria (WHOI 19), Rockford (WTVO 17), and Springfield (WICS-TV 20).
ABC Television Network Programming also provides affiliates in all major states for Middle America. Among the states are Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Montana, Nebraska, Louisiana, Mississippi and Kansas, as well as all of the other states.
The East Coast equally has its share of affiliates that broadcast coverage of ABC Television Network Programming. There is an ABC affiliate in Washingtom DC (WJLA-TV 7), the nation’s capital. Florida has an ABC Orlando affiliate (WFTV 9), but also has affiliates in the following cities: Fort Myers (WZVN-TV 26), Gainesville (WCJB-TV 20), Miami (WPLG 10), Orange Park (Jacksonville) (WJXX 25), Panama City (WMBB 13), Pensacola (WEAR-TV 3), Sarasota (WWSB 40), Tallahassee (WTXL-TV 27), Tampa (WFTS 28), and Tequesta (West Palm Beach) (WPBF 25). All fifty states have one or multiple ABC Television Network affiliates operating within.
Coverage for ABC Television Network affiliates is a broad feature that is accessible throughout the country via nearly two hundred stations, and also as a basic cable station in Canada. For anyone wanting to enjoy the programming found on the station there is never an affiliate that is too far away. Of course, checking a local listing is the best way to find information such as local programming, hosts and technical information, and also broadcast frequencies.
